What’s shakin’ bacon? Pretty sure my grandma might look at me crazy if I asked her that. Just like the look I give Lilah when she is trying to tell me something. Sometimes she gets it right and then other times I get this legit jibber-jabber sentence. Like I said in the last post everything is a no and I can’t quite figure out if she really means yes sometimes when she says no. I thought I would be so excited when she finally figured out how to tell me what movie she wants to watch, but when your toddler knows what she wants and you are convinced she speaks part Chinese, it puts you in a little bit of a pickle. Talk about melt-down central when I grab the wrong movie. That’s life though, how many times do I find myself trying to explain why I make certain choices or vice versa trying to figure out what in the world provokes others to make their choices. We all “mom” different. PERIOD. The only ones that in my opinion are doing it wrong are the ones that are neglecting their kids. We can all have our own opinions on what we think falls in the neglect category, so I won’t get into that subject too much. I will say this though and I won’t sugarcoat the fact if you are doing drugs, especially if you have kids, get help because not only are you neglecting your own body, but nine times out of ten you are probably not being the kick-ass mom that you could be. Now I really don’t give a hoot what discipline method you use, breastfed/formula fed, cloth diaper vs. Luvs, if that baby is on the tit until he is two, BabyGap vs. Walmart, send them to bed hungry if they won’t eat vs. just give the kid that pb&j that they would rather have, I mean the list goes on. As long as you are trying your best to do what you think is right for your kiddos and family, you are doing it right. Do what works and gives positive vibes in your house. Sometimes it takes time to get to that positive point, like sleep training. To me this really sucked watching my baby do the cry-out method, but down the road it was such a positive effect for the whole household! Having the kiddos sleeping in their own bed through the night was my goal and was what made me happy. If you co-sleep, cool! I don’t blame you for wanting to snuggle them all night! If that’s what makes you happy, do it!

What is new with Lilah Rose? Besides the fact that she is getting more adorable by the day, this ball of fire has really developed a little bit of an attitude. Has she been terrible? Nah, not as bad as it could be. Ask her a question and the answer will always be, “No” with a scrunched face and her hip popped! #attitude #bossy! Unless you offer her a sandwich, then she gets the Chester cat grin and says, “CHES!” That’s yes in Lilah Lingo. We have also discovered according to Lilah Elmo’s real name is, “MINE•EH.” Every morning she points to the tv screaming his name, insisting we watch a full episode while munching on her favorite apple cheerios. I guess she could be obsessed with a more annoying cartoon, right? Thank the Lord we don’t have to worry about Barney! Terrible! I feel sorry for anyone who has had a kid obsessed with that creepy dinosaur! Lilah is definitely a sour patch kid when it comes to hanging out with Cali. One minute she is snatching toys from her and then the next minute she is giving her kisses. Sweet little Cali already follows her every move and for now wants to be right next to big sister! Lilah also has a new favorite song, “Freak Out by Chic.” ? I seriously HAVE to record her dancing to this song because it is so hilarious!
What make-up are you using? I think this is a question all moms are constantly asking friends and wondering if there is a miracle product that will conceal these dark circles and give me that glowing skin. I had recently read a review on Sheer Miracle Wide Awake Concealer and I couldn’t help myself, I had to try this product out! I seriously fell in love after one use! While hiding those dark unwanted circles, it also brightens the under eye as well. This type of concealer is one you have to put on BEFORE your foundation though because it will definitely be too bright alone. I have been using the Medium-Neutral Mineral Foundation mixed with a little bit of the Glow Finishing Powder on top of the concealer and it blends beautifully! I preferred mixing the finishing powder rather than putting it on top of my foundation to avoid it looking too shimmery. To me it was like mixing an illuminater in with a powder to give more of a dewy look vs a matte finish. If you prefer more of a matte finish, I would go with one of the other finishing powders. I absolutely loved the way the light reflected on my skin and I could tell a huge difference instantly when I snapped a few photos! I was hooked and couldn’t wait to try a few more of their products! What was even more comforting was that every product is made from natural ingredients and is hyper-allergenic! For a girl with very sensitive skin this is a dream come true! I haven’t had one break out since switching over! Try-out their sample selection to help find your perfect match!
When it comes to fashion, I always gravitate towards anything classic and timeless. I am usually not one to wear jewelry or accessories, but being a busy mom, I knew it was time to add a watch to my wardrobe. I definitely wanted something that would go with pretty much everything, but at the same time I wanted it to be more of a statement piece. After looking around I stumbled across the JORD wood watches and I knew I had found my match! I fell in love with the Frankie series, and I finally decided on the zebrawood and navy watch. I was so thrilled to be gifted such a one of a kind watch and couldn’t wait to give my followers an opportunity to enter in a contest to receive a discount as well!
Contest winner gets a $75 e-gift code to the shop and will be automatically selected and emailed. All other entrants will receive a $20 e-gift code automatically emailed to them just for entering!

The contest will close 10/30 at 11:59pm. Both the $75 and the $20 codes will expire on 1/31/2017.
Ok, so I think I’ve finally seen the light. You know that light at the end of the tunnel that all the veteran moms say you will see? I think I can see maybe a glimmer. I feel like I should knock on wood saying this, but life lately has been pretty darn good. Finally after six months of having two, I am actually getting the hang of this. I’ve had to make some major adjustments as far as house cleaning goes, because God knows my old cleaning schedule did not keep up with two. Long gone are the days of having Monday as my cleaning day. It’s Sunday-Saturday now and as bad as it may suck to feel like I’m constantly cleaning, you know what sucks more? Having a house that is never clean. A huge part of my stress with two has been the fact that I just can’t keep up with the house. I felt like the dishes and laundry were always piled so high that there literally was no end in sight. One thing that has helped tremendously is not letting anything get too far gone and the only way to achieve that really is to do certain cleaning duties on a daily basis. Every morning at 9:00 a.m. (I had to set an exact time or I might not get off the couch until 10.. #lazy) I check the dishes and wash any that are in the sink, start a load of laundry, and wipe all kitchen counters/high chair down. I have the Clorox wipes set on the counter in my kitchen and both bathrooms. This makes it super easy to just grab and wipe when passing in each room. After I put the girls down for a nap I usually wipe the bathroom counters, clean the toilets (I have a separate Lysol toilet bowl cleaner for each bathroom and this saves on time!) and then after that I usually fold a load of laundry and then have some mommy-down-time. I always try to do a quick sweep of the kitchen at least once a day, usually after Lilah has had lunch. I feel like breakfast + lunch = food all over mama’s floor. I HAVE to vacuum every other day. Seriously, this makes the biggest difference and it’s the quickest way to make everything look a million times better! I do the main rooms and halls every other day and usually once a week I do every room. I always try to do this right before Daddy gets home, so it looks like I don’t sit and play all day ? Right? I have cut down on the amount of toys the girls have. They both have a small basket of toys for the living room and once it is full it’s time to sort through and make room. Same goes for their rooms. They each have a few bins that hold toys and after they are full it’s time let go of some! The baskets in the living room have handles on them, so this is super awesome for picking up the toys quickly! I end the day with checking the dishes, a quick wipe down on the counters and putting away the laundry. BOOM! House looks amazing and it’s time for a glass of wine and hopefully there is a good game/show on! Obviously, on the days I’m not home this does not always happen, but at least if you miss one day, it’s not a big deal. These are just a few tidbits that are working for me now for the time being. Ahh yes, I see that light ladies! For now anyways?
