Last year was a tough one! Staying home with a one and two year old is no joke. I occasionally had play dates, but for the most part we were stuck at home trying to find things to do. I was so excited when Andy surprised me with a gym membership for Christmas! My membership includes two hours of childcare and the best part is, yoga classes available everyday! I was so excited that I actually cried when he showed me the email that I was officially a member! Best husband EVER! Happy tears for having the option of going to yoga classes daily and also for getting the kids out of the house! We all needed this!
With that being said, my morning routine has changed quite a bit. It’s actually really nice to have somewhere I have to be “on time.” I love the morning classes because it really sets the tone for my day and it’s also the best time for the girls. With waking up earlier to get going on time, I had to set a consistent bedtime for all of us so we are all getting plenty of sleep. It’s hard to be motivated when you are exhausted, sleep is crucial! The girls go to bed by 7:30 and I’m in bed by 9:00.
First thing I go for in the morning is a cup of water! Your body craves water after sleeping and it’s super dehydrated from not getting any for several hours. This is also when I hit the coffee button and get the girls’ breakfast going. I also like to add a few stretches while waiting on my coffee to brew. A few stretches in the morning and before bed is magic! Definitely give that a try!
My clothing choice is pretty much always my Alo Yoga gear and most days I have my hair in a low ponytail with a braid. My hair is super heavy so this helps keep it out of my face, without giving me headaches. I’ve tried so many different yoga brands, but Alo just fits me the best and everything is super cozy! I could live in their airbrushed leggings!
For makeup, I try to keep it super light. I use my Skin Ceuticals spf 50 sunscreen as my moisturizer/primer and then use my Bali Body BB Cream. The BB cream is very light and really just helps me not look as pale, while also giving me a more even skin tone.
Lastly, I use my Erbaviva Awaken body spray and then grab my morning smoothie. I absolutely love a spray that has an energizing aroma and this one has been my go-to! I also use their Relax body spray before bed. Such good stuff!
